I a huge Tull fan and last time you posted up Crest Of A Knave on some list I thought I give it another go but I just don't get it. Sounds like Dire Straits to me which is a very very bad thing

Actually I was just thinking that myself.
Rock Island was alright, nowt special.

A bit WORKMANLIKE.

I liked the track "Doctor To My Disease" until my mate Peach ruined it for me by pointing out it sounds like he's singing "dog turd of my disease".

Re: Best albums of 1989?
Faith No More - The Real Thing
Marillion - Seasons End
Chumbawamba - Slap
Madonna - Like A Prayer
Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe - ABWH

these are the only 5 albums from 1989 that I like. A bit of a lean year.

I'm inclined to agree with you on that, even though our actual tastes differ
Queen, Marillion, Rush, Kate Bush & Jethro Tull all released albums that year which were not their best

Not in retrospect but...

The Raw and the Cooked

And

The Batman soundtrack

Were I believe the first cassettes I bought based on pop/ my own tastes - as opposed to the folk/country tastes of my parents. I was a kid was allowed to be wrong.

Re: Best albums of 1989?
1989 seems to have been a year of albums that are good but not their best by great bands.

Club Classics Vol 1 was great though.
